Dr Kirk-Bayley was most reasuring and frankly he came out with the goods; I closed my eyes as I took a couple of breaths, I open my eyes and I was wondering how long will take until they will take me to the operating theather when I wae told that it was all over and I was going to be taken back to my room!.
Well done Dr Kirk-Bayley!

Dr Kirk-Bayley looked after me whilst I had a shoulder decompression operation. I found that his preoperative consultation was clear and reassuring. He administered a nerve block to my arm in the anaesthetic room and this was carried out very smoothly under ultrasound guidance. I was given a little sedation for this procedure which meant I was relaxed and it did not hurt very much at all. I then had a general anaesthetic for the actual operation and am pleased to say I remember nothing at all about the operation . Dr Kirk - Bayley returned to me post operatively to check I was alright which was extremely kind of him. The block was very effective for the first hours post operatively and wore off after 24 hours. I really did feel in good hands and found him very professional and at the same time approachable. Thank you.
